TOPI

Studying work, or TOPI, is a process used at Laurea, which allows students to utilize the skills they have acquired at work. This competence is recognized as part of the degree.

How does it work?

Your TOPI journey begins with the evaluation of your work tasks and opportunities for development. When you identify in your work the competences included in the modules or study courses of the degree curriculum, you are able to complete study credits through your work.

Once a competence match between work and study programme’s objectives are identified, the student is able to reach out to one of the coaches at Digital Living Lab for a consultation. The consultation will ensure the student is informed in detail on the requirements for their work gained knowledge to be recognized as a part of their degree.

Digital Living Lab coaches are also able to provide instructions regarding the monitoring process carried out by the student, the supervisor and potentially the employer.

Combining your studies and a real-life working environment can ensure your competences and skills are compatible with your goals.
